Treatment of papermaking wastewater with chitosan

The main flocculation principles of chitosan used as flocculant in papermaking wastewater treatment include bridging, electric neutralization, group reaction, etc. We use trimethyl chitosan quaternary ammonium chloride as flocculant to treat papermaking wastewater. With the increase of PH value, the flocculation effect is improved. The appropriate PH is 8-13, and the CODcr removal rate can reach 75%. Chitosan flocculant with protein retention has obvious flocculation effect on acid sulfite reed pulp waste liquid, alkali wheat straw pulp waste liquid, Zhongxing sodium sulfite reed waste liquid and APMP pulping waste liquid.
